E-mail Administration Survey

Recovery-Oriented Computing Research Group
University of California, Berkeley

Welcome to the Recovery-Oriented Computing Project's E-mail Administration Survey. We are collecting data from system administrators on their experiences configuring, administering, and operating electronic mail and messaging server systems. Our goal in collecting this data is to better understand the challenges facing e-mail administrators today, so that we may design new systems that address these challenges and make e-mail administration easier, less error-prone, and less time-consuming.

We ask you to be as candid as possible in filling out the survey. Your responses will be kept separate from any personally-identifying information, and will only be available to the members of our research team. Please be aware that we may report summaries and/or excerpts from the collected survey data in published research papers and talks; if we do so, however, the reported data will be kept anonymous, and no personally-identifying information will be reported.

As an incentive for filling out the survey, all participants who complete the survey will be entered into a drawing for your choice of a $50 gift certificate to Amazon.com, or a signed copy of Hennessy & Patterson's book Computer Architecture: A Quantitative Approach, 3rd edition. The drawing will be held on or before March 1, 2003. Please note that, for practical reasons, we will be unable to enter you into the drawing if you choose to fill out the survey without supplying an e-mail contact address.
